School of Dance

Crystal Coast School of the Arts offers quality, professional instruction in the Art of Dance for ages two years to adult. Classes are offered in Ballet, Pointe, Lyrical, Tap, Jazz, Hip-Hop and Ballroom. Dance classes are taught in a positive, non-competitive, fun environment where the focus is building the student's self esteem and talent through the Art of Dance.

Dance Teams - Find Out More! From the earliest age, students are taught proper technique and terminology through positive reinforcement. At CCSA the curriculum supports the recreational dancer as well as the student pursuing a lifelong career in the world of dance. Students enjoy the freedom of self-expression and creativity without judgment in an environment that supports their growth as an artist, a dancer and most importantly, as an individual. At CCSA we instill and develop positive self esteem, grace, poise and presence. We foster a love and appreciation for the Art of Dance that each student will benefit from and carry with them for a lifetime.

All students are invited to perform in our annual Winter and Spring Recitals held at West Carteret High School. They are also given the opportunity to perform in various community events such as parades and festivals.

The CCSA dance teams, the Jewels and the Glitter Girls, provide an arena for the student who wants more performance travel opportunities than the traditional schedule allows. The Jewels is comprised of middle school and high school students who are selected through an audition process. Auditions are held in the spring for the upcoming school year. The Glitter Girls is open to all students in 3rd and 5th grades and no auditions are required.

At CCSA we believe in and support the student's continuing growth and development in the Art of Dance. To nurture this belief we provide opportunities for our students to attend workshops and conventions in major cities hosted by leading professionals in the dance world. We also organize field trips to attend performances by professional Ballet companies, higher education facilities, and major production companies.

CCSA has three beautiful dance studios. Two are equipped with sprung hardwood floors for the safety of the dancer's joints, bones and muscles. The third studio is equipped with gymnastics mats and equipment used to enhance the dancer's flexibility and tumbling skills in order to support a well rounded education. All the studios are equipped with closed circuit T.V. to allow parents to observe their child while still providing the students with a learning environment free from distractions.

All students are required to follow CCSA's dress code. The supplies can be purchased at Tutu's Boutique, which is conveniently located inside CCSA.
